| (This is from Jordan's Mom)....This photo was taken on my first trip to Liberia when I first met Jordan ~ who was known as Varney then! This picture brings back sweet memories of getting to know Varney, and yet it was one of the saddest days as it was the day I left Liberia and had to say goodbye to Varney. It was so hard to leave him, it did not seem right somehow! Thankfully, God has made a way for Jordan to come to the US and be our adopted son. I love my boy!
Often I miss my friends in Liberia and I am happy they are in the hands of the Lord! I remembered us under a plum tree with these young men sharing jokes as we waited for the day to passby., Under the plum tree was where we met everyday for us to have fun and do other stuff together. We would voke one person at a time as the others waited to be voked. I miss those days with my buddies. When I was leaving them to come to the United States I left these few words with them, saying "I have a few words to give, I've been telling people the reason to live, the reason to die, is to be united with the King of the sky. This life is passing by, I've no reason to lie - you will never be able to give this world enough it will always hunger for more - pull you away, they're fixing the ways of nothing to settle the score. More security than the man who left you, or more love than the mommas who kept you. God will always accept you, be everything you're supposed to be. Let Christ rule your heart, mind, body and soul because he chose you, and if they don't know you, it doesn't matter, you guys are God's children and he'll never disown you. Your purpose on earth is far from worthless, that's why you glorify like your life been purchased and it doesn't matter if the world doesn't see us, you still mean the world to Jesus." ~ I quote that from a gospel musician, Liscare.
Having fun with my brother Jack, we went to the market and bought a chicken to cook a soup for the white guys with! And this soup was the best soup ever! And the Africans love the chicken soup, also Fufu soup. |
